Question Get rid of the beep

Hey experts!

I was wondering how to get rid of the constant beeping I get when I'm using the command line (console or xterm)?
It occurs the most often when I hit "tab".
I'm using RH71 and RH9.

Thx.

Florent

Or disconnect the speaker, if you can. These days, unless the bios wants to talk in beeps, there's nothing worth hearing coming out of that sucker.

fcarli,

well for xterm, you could use:
xset b off

and put it in your X init file.

You could also play with the duration and pitch and get it to sound like the truck's horn

Enjoy
