Get a stroke font on the desktop

Well, let me explain my self ( i'll try since English is not my native language, so if you just don't get it please tell me )

What i want to do is to have a stroke around my desktop font ( a black one ) since my screen wallpaper is kind of gray and the texts on it get really invisible.

I would like to know if i can do this only on the desktop fonts, since everything else looks fine.

I know it's really a hell of a lot easier to just change my wallpaper ( or edit it in GIMP ) but my moto on Linux has always been "If it can be done, why don't do it" ( I hope is sounds good in English too )

So if there is a way plese let me not, if not, i'll just edit my wallpaper

Are you using Gnome, KDE, or some other window manager or desktop environment?

While it may be not exactly what you wanted, there is a way to change the bg color there. From here: create ~/.gtkrc-2.0 if it does not exist yet and add this in the end:

Code:
style "desktop-icon"
{
 text[NORMAL] = "#000000"
 NautilusIconContainer::frame_text = 1
 NautilusIconContainer::normal_alpha = 100
}
class "GtkWidget" style "desktop-icon"
The first style field is the text color (rgb hex). It works fine on my Gnome without this line. The second one is a mandatory 1, and the last one is the alpha for the background, which will be transparent at 0 and solid white (?) at 255.

Save the file and killall nautilus to see the changes.

Wow! Thanks man. Certainly it wasn't exactly what i was looking for, but it works as well, or even better.

And actually i can try to get theme bold or something.

Thanks again
