passwd is the command your looking for.

i feel like such a noob.....haha......i forgot that the gentoo manual tells you that.....haha....

I know that this is a bit late, but I am using the genkernel and I am running into the problem that there is not initrd. It was supposed to have been done for me. Would I be able to fix it like what is already mentioned?
