Question Gentoo and Windows?


1. Does Gentoo do windows programs like AIM, MSN or YIM?

I am confused, especialley after the screenshots.

2. what do i type in to install gentoo?

You can use GAIM for AIM, MSN or YIM. At what part of the installation process are you at? Are you following the Gentoo Install Handbook?

Question Yeah but...

I saw kazaa in the background of a screenshot, is kazaa for linux too?

Or is there a program in the packages you can install that allwos you to use windows programs?

yes, its called wine, and some commercial wine based products that have a bit more compatibility for certain things .... just get wine

and theres numerous programs that let you use fast track (the network kazaa uses for its p2p software ... besides, the only good kazaa program where those hacked versions, no adds, and multiple search results, and unlimited downloads
