general question

Hi
Can you tell me what does that error mean
read (subshell_pty...): Input/output error (5)
or
read (subshell_pty...): No child processes (10)
I got this messages when I quit "mc"

Thx
Nikosis

It sounds like errors relating to a pipe connected to a child process, which is that mini command shell you have at the bottom of MC. When you quit, maybe the parent application is not very graceful in terminating its children of breaking the pipe to them. If the child has already gone away, then the above messages would certainly make sense.

These are just my opinions, I wouldnt be able to be 100% certain without looking at the MC source code. If you have time, and its a really burning question, you could download the source yourself, and examine how it handles its subshell when it exits.
