GConf error with Xiniam Gnome
Hi: im am sort of a newbie with Linux, anyways just wanted to see if anyone could help:
Im running Mandrake 8.1 gaming edition with a P3 cpu, everything was fine 'till i decided to upgrade gnome to the latest Ximian Gnome. Everything worked fine, as usuall (done this many times), but after restarting the X-Server and logging in Nautilus wouln't run and I got a gConf error: Eel-WARNING **: GConf error: Object Activation Framework error: OAF problem description: 'Nothing matched the requirements.'. So far I can run gnome and use mozilla, but i get the error with Nautilus and galeon. Tried uninstalling and installing Nautilus, but same error appears, and there aren't any log messages about this error. Any ideas... Thaks!! |
I had a similar problem when opening Evolution and trying to create an email to send. And sometimes Nautilus wouldn't load. I had to go to the command line and start it. Also, did you run the red carpet updates for Ximian? I ran the updates (I think it was about 95 megs) and that cleared all of the errors I had.
