gcc compilation problem


in a chroot einvironment i am trying to compile gcc but is says that i need a newer version of glibc, but i have the newest version of it. i think somehow it trys to use the older glibc from the ubuntu install im makeing it on.

It really shouldn't be able to see any libraries that are outside of the chroot. I'm no gcc building expert, but I think it might help for you to post some more information like: The exact error message, 'ls -l' output for relevant /*/lib directories, and the commands you're using to get into the chroot environment
