gcc, cc, cl Not Found ?
Hi All !!
Im kinda newbie, using RH9.
I am trying to install a package and ./configure command retrieves this:
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
But I installed gcc and cc on RH installation.... and if i try to install gcc RPM from cd it says package already installed...Dont know if this helps, but on echo $PATH I dont have /user/sbin...
This is echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/home/martin/bin
1 - So.... how to add /usr/sbin to PATH ?
2 - How to check if I have gcc, or install it ?
THANKS !!!!

I really like RedHat, they never give users what they will need.
I don't remember wich cd it is but look in "developemment" package and add everything about gcc and C++ compilator.

man up2date.... that's redhat's own tool and it is excellent It takes care of dependencies automatically and can auto install updated packages. You've got to register, though unless you can get it to use the CDs.
