firewall configuration under red hat 8.0

I have a red hat 8.0 box that I have been having trouble getting apache and proftpd running on. I have had no trouble getting the same stuff to work on an almost identical box but with 7.3. Problem is that I cant get to any of my websites or ftp into the box. when I put its address into a browser it just sits forever like its cant find the server. I am starting to think that maybe the firewall in red hat is blocking that traffic. When I installed, I just left the defaults for the firewall setup (medium). How can I tell if the firewall is allowing http traffic on port 80 and ftp on port 21? I can get into the box with webmin so I know I have connectivity, weird because webmin is http but its set to port 10000. I have pretty much ruled out anything in my config files and I am not getting any errors when I start apache or proftpd.

Hi.
Havnt used RH 8.0, but if its similar to it's 7.3 cousin, you could try as root
/etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables status
Might show some details
