Full screen screen shots -- Screenshot program with hotkeys

The "take a screenshot" program that comes with ubuntu is activated when I click on an icon which must be pasted on the taskbar when I'm browsing with firefox.

With windows xp, taking a screenshot was simply a matter of

Ctrl + "Print Screen"

This is a bit of a bummer when I'm trying to make jpg images of online map programs such as "google maps" because I can't take a screen set of my brows on full screen mode.

Is there any hotkey or solution or other screenshot program that's better someone may direct me to?

never mind, it seems in linux it's Alt + Print Screen instead of Ctl + PrintScreen.
