ftp upload: permissoin denied?


hi,
Im using vsftpd on fc5. trying to upload a file from a remote machine.

Ive logged in as anonymous. /var/ftp/pub is chmoded to 777. but I still get a permission denied. What is going on?

oops, i should be more specific. I can log in a browse the files, but when i try to upload,i get:

An error occured while copying a file to the ftp server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

Details:
200 Switching to Binary mode.
227 Entering Passive mode (##,##,##,##,238,149)
553 Could not create file.

(#'s indicate the numbers of my ip address)

anonymous upload needs to be enabled in /etc/vsftpd.conf

thanks. I acctually had all my vsftpd.conf correctly configured. after searching around for quite a while i found that i had to disable selinux . once i did that it worked fine.

SELinux and vsftpd don't yet play well together. I have to run SELinux in permissive mode on RHEL ES4/5, and suffer the verbose logging, in order to have vsftpd working correctly for our developers.
