How are you trying to FTP, thru command or thru a client? Is this win2k box on the same network, or different network? More details please, as they will get better responses as we can't assume all this information to help you out.

On the win clients I use CuteFtp and ftp command at the DOS command prompt. The error I get is:

Connected to to 192.168.0.3
Connection closed by remote host

And you've tried to toggle on and off the passive transfer options maybe in cuteFTP or from a command line? And you did state this worked from another Linux machine correct?

It works perfectly from another linux box, although it takes 60 seconds before I get the login prompt. Can it be a timeout problem? Al the computers are on a small LAN - 7 to be exact and 2 of them are linux. I've got the same problem on both of them.
