FTP question

Hi,
How to notify a server A that an incoming ftp is completed to use
the loaded file. The aim is to avoid copying a file which is not entirely
transfered. How can I notify server B that the file is transferred and
that it can now initiate another transfer. How to do this using a specific
service and port.
Thanks for help

You could upload a confirmation file for every file you upload. That way if a confirmation file is on the server, then the file was uploaded completely

I don't really know how you plan to implement this, or what you are trying to do to need this, so more info would help.

More precisely, I want to etablish a communication process between two
servers to load file alternatively using ftp. Server A should send a file to
server B which should check that the file is entirely transfered before using
it and at the same time send a notify to server A for the next file and vice versa. My problem is how to establish this link using ports (/etc/services).
Thanks again
