ftp + proxy
 

Hello,
I want to use the ftp command to upload some files. But I am behind a proxy..
Is there a config file or an enviroment variable that I can put in the IP address and the port of my proxy server so that the 'ftp program' detect it and connect to the host through the proxy server?

It's quite hard. The easiest method is to find the file you're rying to download available via http.

You may use gftp. it has a nice support for ftp under proxy.
