FTP problem from fedora core 5 linux


Hi Guys

I have a ftp problem. I have a two linux server one is Fedora Core 5.0 and another is RHL 9.0.

I am trying to ftp from RHL9.0 then i am getting following connectivity.

FTP <IP Address>
Connected to <IP ADDRESS>
220 Service ready
Name (IP:sysadmin):

When i am trying from FC5 i am getting following error.

FTP <IP Address>
220 Service Ready
500 Unsupported command
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection
KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type
Name (10.133.123.18:root):

Can you please guide me where i made a mistake.

Try 'ftp -u' to disable attempting auto authentication.

Hi Macemoneta,

I tried `ftp -u` but it didn't work. Do you think it is because
of KERBEROS_V4 authenticate problem.

do i need to change .profile or .bashrc file.

Please post the result of an 'ftp -u -v -d host'.

I wasn't asking whether it worked or not, but for the debugging information.

Hi,

It is working fine with gftp but not working through simple ftp command.

I resolved the problem. If you removed kerbose entry from path. Then it work fine.
