Question fstab is updated when booting

I made certain changes to /etc/fstab for mounting certain partitions. But when i reboot the system all new entries i made in the fstab file are lost.
What can i do to retain those entries?

Are you actually saving the file and then verifying the changes before rebooting?

After making an entry and saving, you can also just run:

mount -a

And see if it mounts whatever you've added to the file.

You can see current mounts by doing just a mount
