fsck failure at boot time - hda mounted twice

I hope some one here maybe able to help me I am at my wits end.

On booting up my Suse 9.0 PC I get the message that fsck has failed and the file system is mounted read only.

I have carried out some considerable searching here and elsewhere but cannot find out what to do.

Disturbingly when I type 'mount' I get:

:/ # mount
/dev/hda2 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr)
/dev/hda2 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr)
:/ #

hda appears twice!

hda1 has my swap file and hda2 should be where everything else is.

Any one any clues anyone as to whats happened?

Update

Follwoing on from what I said earlier, I have just carried out the following:

Boot from Sues CD 1 in to rescue mode and ran

fsck \dev\hda2

which comes back with no corruptions found.

So is it that I have hda2 mounted twice?

My fstab for hda1 and 2 is

# first hardrive
/dev/hda1 swap swap pri=42 0 0
/dev/hda2 / reiserfs acl,user_xattr 1 1
# second hardrive
.....

I have not given the details for the second hardrive but it does not contain and mention of hda2.

Does this help?
