FSB speed

Hi,

Is there any way to find the speed of the FSB?

Does this message in dmesg output specifies FSB

..... host bus clock speed is 199.5123 MHz

Is there any other way to determine its speed?

Thanks

FSB speed is more an issue for the CPU than for the OS.

Which processor do you have, and what motherboard are you using?

FSB is depend on your CPU , what is the CPU you are using ?

I have Intel Pentium and xeon processors (with various speeds). I need a way to find out FSB speed using some linux command (if possible)

This doesn't really sound possible - u normally do this with the Bios before you get to the OS.

You might be able to grep for it in a config file somewhere, but I have a feeling your next question is going to be about how to change the speed with linux which I don't think is possible.

Please post the exact model of the motherboard and the CPU you are using. The lesser of the mobo FSB or the CPU FSB is what your system is running -- J.W.
