Free Unix/Linux shell host

Hi, I found this thread but it was old, and not many replies, so I'm asking again.

Can anyone recommend a free linux/unix shell provider. I found this list here and am burdened with too many apparently great options from which to choose. What I am looking for, in this order:
  • IRC bouncer
  • programming tools: Emacs, python3, GNU Octave (not essential)
  • Git hosting
  • Web and domain hosting (again, this isn't really essential, but from the list above it seems this is often provided
  • I guess other nice things would be a nice community and pleasant/trustworthy people who run these services

Also, I am curious who generally runs these services and if they're free, how? and why?

Given that Linux is free, why not download & install it?

Figured out that you want a free service like a web hosting company.

Not sure why companies or individuals would let that happen other then two reasons. One could be some sort of ad supported method and second would be some sort of donation or donated for some common good or common group.
