Free Space not being used, resize resierfs partition?
I currently have 15GB for winXp, 15gb for my current linux partition, and 30 free space not being used.. I wanna give the rest to linux.. I currently just have everything on one partition for linux (if that is the right way to say it)
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hda2 15G 14G 1.6G 90% / none 252M 0 252M 0% /dev/shm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hda1 Boot Primary NTFS [^A] 16845.38 Pri/Log Free Space 26205.75 hda2 Primary Linux ReiserFS 15998.17 hda3 Primary Linux swap / Solaris 962.36 I was wondering if i can resize my current reiserfs partition and add on all the free space.. what are my options? I dont use any non-su users only root.. so adding a partition for /home wouldnt really be useful :\ thanks for any help |
You can try reiserfsprogs utils from http://www.namesys.com/download.html
but I suggest you to back up your linux partition into another hdd, repartition again, and restore from the backup. (you can use a Knoppix or another LiveCD for the backup, refdisk and restore procedure. it is the safest solution IMHO). Anyway, in both cases a backup will not be unwise :-) Hope I could helped. |
