my apologies if the next questions are out of place, but i need some info about how to use an old hard drive that i was using for Win2K in a redhat box with double booting, i decided i would like to see that hd being part of my /home and get rid of Win.
There are several issues: i'm a newbie, but seriously, very very newbie, so i don't even know how to tell if that hd is mounted or not. i'm running ximian and i cannot find a nice graphic app where to do this stuff...
i think, that the kernel startup logo helped knowing that from the following lines:
hda: WDC AC420400D, ATA DISK drive
hdb: Hewlett-Packard CD-Writer Plus 9500, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
blk: queue c03cdfe0, I/O limit 4095Mb (mask 0xffffffff)
hdc: Maxtor 5T060H6, ATA DISK drive

and, well, i assume hda is what i want to include in my linux box?
if so, i guess i should follow the same steps that it has been posted here?
why it says 'host protected'?
and finally, since hda is not UDMA 100, would that fall into troubles since i'd be using hard drives with different UDMA for /home?
thanx for your time
