Unhappy Foolish deletion of /etc/fonts/ files & Gimp

Ok, I am a fool sometimes. I'll admit it. What made me delete this files in a su session.... ? Trying to get my fonts to work in Gimp!

I'm using Redhat 8, and have working TTF fonts in my /usr/share/fonts/ttf directory. They work in all my applications, except gimp!

In the process of figuring out what the problem was, I was a bit overzealous with my deletions. Here's the dirty log.. (how embarassing):
Code:
cd /etc/fonts
ls
rm fonts.conf
rm fonts.dtd
Oops! They were important files! I tried to uninstall the fontconfig rpm and reinstall it, but there are too many dependencies on top of it.

Basically, it appears I need these two files back.. and was wondering if I could somehow recreate them, or some nice fellow Redhat 8 user could help me out with copies of the files.

Surprisingly, my system was stable this morning, but quanta & the gnome graphical login screen is freaking out and using a strange TTF font (I think it's Avalon Quest) for it's main font on all the menus.

So as a 2 part question, how can I get these files back? And 2... how can I get my fonts to show up in Gimp? With this fixed... I won't need Photoshop anymore! <yess!>

Thanks so much!
