Floppy drive acting strange (I'm trying to transfer files from linux to windows)

I'm having strange behavior on my floppy a: drive

I have a dual boot machine (windows xp and suse linux 8.1)

While logged in linux I put a file on the floppy disk. when I go into windows I can not see the file. When I go back to linux, the file is gone.

cheers
Scott

It is a standard DOS formatted floppy? How are you mounting the floppy?

the floppy came pre-formated out of the box. I have used it before to transfer files between windows boxes. I've done nothing to try to re-format the floppy.

mount floppy

do you mean mount the floppy drive?
I haven't done anything besides using the suse disks
to install 8.1 so what ever defaults it sets up.
