LinuxQuestions.org - Firewire webcams not working on FC3

I need some help...

I setup a computer running Fedora Core 3 test 1, with a firewire card and a pyro 1394 firewire webcam. /sbin/lspci reports my card as:

I installed libraw1394, did /sbin/modprobe on modules video1394, ohci1394, raw1394, and did 'make dev' in the libraw source dir.

polling for leftover messages

"gscanbus &" opens with one icon, "s400 linux ohci1394"
"coriander &" opens saying no cameras found
"libdc1394/examples/grab_color_image" reports no cameras found as well

I tried it with the latest fedora kernel, 2.6.8-1.541, and my own customkernel with firewire compiled in(not modules)

any ideas? cameras are plugged in but don't work)
