Firefox1.0PR Shoutcast Problem

Whenver I click on a link that should allow me to stream audio (pls, M3u), Firefox doesn't give me the option to open with any application such as xmms. It just pops up a page and says No appropriate application found in the bottom corner. I checked everywhere in the preferences and I didn't see anywhere that would let me edit it in manually.

Is there any way I can get firefox to prompt the "opens with" option it usually gives?

Ok, upon more troubleshooting, I noticed streaming only works if I disable java support. Somehow the Java plugin is interfering with it.
