How can I add LQ to the search box in firefox such as the ones available here?

I found one, but it was broken. I read the page you sent, but information is only for Mozilla Suite. For Firefox, there is this message.

check /usr/X11R6/lib/firefox directory... it is the same

In order to be able to install the plugin as normal user you'll ahve to modify the permission for the plugins folder of your firefox installatin, probably somewhere under /etc/firefox-1.5*******/plugins
