Firefox Fails with Quick Find
Hello all,
I've been a huge Firefox fan for quite some time now and with the release of 2.0 I thought that there was no way it could get better. Firefox offers many great features like spell checking, session reloads from browser closings, and the best of which, an Alternative from Internet Explorer. Unfortunately Firefox has a feature that is so annoying that I could drop this release without thinking twice about it: Quick find. If you aren't familiar with Quick Find it's a feature where if you press ' or / a box to find words will pop up for a few seconds so that a user can search for something.
While I'm perfectly fine with pressing CTRL + F to get a find screen this Quick Find nonsense keeps popping up. Quick Find interrupts email compositions, posts to forums like LinuxQuestions.org, and any other place where I have to type things in. It's not the fact that I'm pressing ' or / before typing but that it happens while I'm typing in the forms when it should be explicitly disabled. It's not only that there there are times when the bug sticks itself to ALL of the keys and everything I type goes straight into the Quick Find box. This is very annoying because I'll have to shutdown Firefox several times just so that this Quick Find mode will reset itself and I can type normally.
Now what I would like to know is if there's a way to disable this feature or at least find a add-on to disable it. Also, does anyone know where bugs can be filed for Mozilla Firefox?I really can't imagine myself using it anymore if I can't type in forms. Thanks
