Find/locate an exact file

I am trying to find an exact filename which is called exe.

Don't worry about the filename but if I do a locate i comes back with every file or directory that has the pattern exe in it.

Maybe a find syntax, but find is slow?

How could I scan my filesystem for this file only?

Thanks,

find could proably do it but rather than fudge around with that, try this:

Code:

locate exe | grep '\/exe$'

find / -name 'exe'
