Find and replace logo

Hi,

Im interested in replacing the logo in the display of a fire alarm panel, mostly for fun.
The panel runs some version of Linux.

I wonder where and what to look for to find the file containing the logo used in the front of the panel.

The pcb of the panel has an SD-slot, i`ve copied the content and looked through it, but havent found anything yet.

There`s also ethernet, USB-OTG and RS232 connections on the PCB that might give access through SSH or FTP, but I dont know how to connect to it.

Any suggestions on where and what to look for?

What do you mean too big?

It is a dump of the storange of the panel, looks like the whole system is stored there.
I`m just wondering if theres an image-file, ASCII-file or anything on there that makes up the logo in the panel display.
Just don`t know what to look for.

Hacking a fire alarm system, even if it's "mostly for fun" as you say, could have unintended consequences. What if you introduce a bug and the alarm doesn't work? We're talking about life or death here. Leave it alone.

I'd think you'd have to find the image and just replace it with another image that is the same depth, size and name as the original. As this is how most show image on boot up is done. If it is not done this way, then it has to be hard coded somehow in "bites and bits" nomenclature, for a lack of a better way to say it.

then you'd have to get the source code and have at it, then it might fall into what post #4 states.
