filesystem repair

i am using fc4. having problem when i start system, getting error related to filesystem.
file system extended attribute should be 53 is 54.
i log in as super user.

#e2fsck -p -f /dev/hda12

but getting same result. and unable to boot system.

You'll need to boot to single user mode, unmount the filesystem (or remount it read only if it's the root filesystem), and then run fsck by hand (without the -p option).
