file to save session settings in?

I remember that first time I installed I had to create a file in home directory to have my personal settings saved every time I ended a session, but I cant find out what that file is and I can't remember either.

RedHat 9 with the Gnome, which I think is Gnome2.

I think I figured out how to just save the session by typing: redhat-session-save, but it would be nice to save websites and stuff, which the session save doesn't, just terminals.
