File size limit on RedHat 3.4.5-2 with MySql
Hi Folks,
We are having a "database full" problem on a RedHat Linux Server. The DB is MySql: Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.19.
with about 16 million records.
I am thinking this is an OS issue since the docs I have read indicate it:
================= snip ===============
FROM: mysql site:
1.4.4. How Large MySQL Tables Can Be
MySQL 3.22 had a 4GB (4 gigabyte) limit on table size.
With the MyISAM storage engine in MySQL 3.23, the maximum
table size was increased to 65536 terabytes (2567 – 1 bytes).
With this larger allowed table size, the maximum effective
table size for MySQL databases is **usually determined by
operating system constraints** on file sizes, not by MySQL internal limits.
==============================================
We have plenty of filesystem space available (over 50GB)
but our DB keeps filling up. I know this to be true since
we can delete a couple hundred K of old records and then add new records.
So my Queation is: How do I increase the file size limit on Redhat?
Thanks for the help, JoeMacB
