Question File Manager (super user mode) crashes

Hi, I orginally posted this in the slackware section because the problem is happening with Slackware 9.0. It's probably more of a kde issue when I think about it though. This is what i'm seeing. I start file manager (super user mode) from the kde menu. The system then asked for the root password- i enter it correctly. The file manager window opens up, for perhaps 5 seconds and then closes/crashes. Does anyone have any idea what I can do about this?

if you use autofs try killing that and try again, that's what does this to me.
