Fedora Core 4 goes offline, no httpd or sshd access

Hello everyone,

I am running Apache over Fedora Core 4 Linux... I am able to view my website and connect via SSH for a while... then httpd and sshd seemingly stop responding.

I'm thinking that my network card goes to sleep or something similiar. I set up a "keep alive" script that pings my domain name every minute, but this also is not a valid solution. Another problem, I guess... could be the drive going to sleep after a certain idle time.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

If it's the system going to sleep you can turn off power management in the BIOS. Otherwise try and get to the console of the system when it happens and decipher if the machine is crashing or it's some sort of hardware issue.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have the same problem, and I don't think that it's my power management. I've already disabled it from the BIOS.
