Fedora Core 2, RPM Files not recognized

This has been a pain to me as the console/shell command "rpm -ivh file.rpm" has not been working.

When i had FC 1, the system recognized rpms and opened them with the Package Manager, and qued them for installation, now it seems with FC2(I believe release 2, I'll confirm that later) does not recognize the RPMs as a system file.

If you need the error returned in the console here it is:

Quote:
[matt@localhost matt] rpm -ivh wine*.rpm
error: cannot create transition lock
I have also tried typing out the full filename, instead of the wildcard.

Thanks if antone can help me :P

You must be root, to get lock over RPM database.

Hmmm....
That didn't seem to work.
I logged in as root, and still got the same error.

As I was looking thru the Gnome file recognition, and found that system-install-packages is what I needed instead of system-config-packages

Thanks anyway
