fedora and phpmyadmin

right,

I've installed fedora, apache and mysql.

I've created a test php page, and php is working fine.

I've put phpmyadmin into my website directory but I get the following message when I visit the folder.

cannot load mysql extension;
please check PHP configuration

can anyone help with this?

Are you sure you enabled mysql in the php installation?
To check taht, create a small php page, that will look like this :
Code:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
This will give you all info you need about the installed php.
Check that in the "Configure Command" row you have "--with-mysql".
If not, you'll have to recompile and add this option (or install a package named php-mysql) so that php can connect with mysql.

Good luck.

are you using fedora or another distro?

If your using fedora then you might need to install the mysql-php link.

I think it's something like

# yum install php-mysql

that should install php with the mysql setup. I think thats what my problem was.

Heres what I did from start to finish
