Fedora 3 mouse stopped working

I've a new install of Fedora 3. All worked fine until some keyboard combination while deleting some junk from a directory caused the mouse to freeze. I rebooted but get only a mouse pointer and no movement. Any suggestions ??
Standard PS2 mouse.
