FC3 Sendmail error

I have encountered the following 3 errors when I boot FC3 and requires help in fixing them:

localhost sendmail: /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: WARNING: dangerous write permissions

localhost sendmail: sendmail startup failed

localhost sendmail: /etc/mail/submit.cf: line 545: unknown configuration line "ft/etc/mail/trusted-users"
Apr 20 12:09:28 localhost sendmail: sm-client startup failed

Is it a fresh installation? rpm will not overwrite any configuration files left over from a previous version of sendmail so it might be worth erasing sendmail, cleaning out (take a backup copy, just in case) the /etc/mail directory and re-install sendmail.
As root:
# rpm -e sendmail
# cp -a /etc/mail /tmp/mail
# rm /etc/mail/*
# rpm -ivh sendmail
# service sendmail start
