fc1 kde desktop refresh too slow

Hello everyone,
I have installed fc1 on my desktop. but I find that the kde desktop is too slow, the gnome desktop too.

for kde example , when i choose refresh desktop, I can feel that the desktop refreshing is more slow than my older installaion of Redhat9 kde desktop.

I have a MGA400/16M/dualhead graphic card installed.

Anyone can tell me how to solved this problem?
and I don't want to upgrade to FC2 or so, reinstalling system is tedious.
