"fbset" settings on all consoles

I am trying to set my console resolution with the fbset command so that all of the consoles are set to the same resolution at boot.

With the "fbset -a" command, I can easily set all the consoles with the same settings. However, this only works when I am actually logged into the machine.

I have put the exact same line in rc.local, rc.S, and even inittab (as suggested by this article), but it only sets the first console properly, all of the others are at the default settings.

What seems to be the problem here? How can I set the system up to correctly configure all the consoles without me having to manually enter the command after I login?

I've been away for a week, so sorry for the rather large bump.

Anybody have an idea what the problem is here?
