Failure in booting

I am using Red Hat Linux 7.2 and i think i have done something to my system and i think it crashes. The system hangs during booting, here's the msg seen:

Mounting root filesystem
VFS: Can't find ext3 filesystem on dev ide0(3,2).
mount: error 22 mounting ext3
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
Freeing unused kernel memory: 220k freed
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

How am I suppose to go about debugging this? Any help is very much appreciated.

First you need to get into your system (boot disk, installation cd). You can't do this without having such a possibility. Then think about what you've changed carefully. You need to make it back as it was.
