extended file system question
Is it safe for NTFS, ext3, and swap paritions to exist in the same Extended file system? Like this:
NTFS ( 20,002 Mb) Primary Extended (19,257 Mb) Primary - NTFS (10,997 Mb) logical - Linux ext3 ( 7,859 Mb) logical - Linux Swap ( 400 Mb ) logical Parition magic let's me do it like that, but I don't want to apply it until I know if its going to mess anything up. Before, I just had that top NTFS, and the bottom Extended with only one NTFS in it. But I will add those two linux paritions if its safe. Thanks, Wes |
This setup is ok.

Ok, thank you.

Agreed. I have sw, ext2, reiser4 (two of 'em), and fat32 in my extended partition.

Hey vector,
Do you see big diff between reiser3.6 and 4.0? |
So far, it seems that things get done a bit faster, but its still too soon to tell yet. I've only had it installed for about a week, it seems to be a bit zippier. The filesystem makes in no time (under a second). So now I have a filesystem that my Windows definitely won't understand!
veritas, if you're using a kernel newer than 2.6.6, you should have very little to worry about writing from linux to your ntfs as well. |

Have you posted a thread about your card? Which model is it? I have an ATI and have been through a lot of reading because its a video capture card with no tv. Not docs around on how to get it working. But, I have reada lot of crap about ATI cards. |
