Question Ext3-fs error (device hda1) in start-transaction

I have Mandrake 10.1. I encountered the following error message and had to press the reset button to restart the machine.

Ext3-fs error (device hda1) in start-transaction: Journal has aborted

At the time this happened, I was running VMware with Windows XP Pro and Mozilla browser on the Linux OS.

What does this error mean? How do I know what cause this error and resolve it?

Thanks.

Kim
