export variables


Hi,

I want to add 'export something=something' automatically after I login. Where can I put it besides .bashrc ?

Is it possible to define a variable I want to export at boot up time?

~/.bash_profile and /etc/profile respectively.

preload exports

Thank you soooooooo much. It works great and I learned. Will read up on the /etc/profile and ~.bash_profile uses.
