In windows on command line you can browse to a folder and then type explore . to open explorer to the current dir.

What is the equivalent command in linux?

Do you mean like a file Browser or something? There're many around. I think Nautilus (Gnome) and Konqueror (KDE) are pretty similar to Windows Explorer. Check for those (if you have them installed, then type nautilus or konqueror)
