Executing scripts on a vfat partition

Is there any way to mount a vfat partition so that I can execute scripts located on the partition?

I've tried setting the options in the /stc/fstab file to include exec as you can see from the excerpt below:

/dev/hda5 /data vfat rw,exec,users,gid=users,umask=002,iocharset=iso8859-1 1 1

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

My fstab line is following:
dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat rw,gid=500,umask=0 0 0
and everything is ok

Only problem might be vfat line ends differ to *nix ones, and text based scripts might fall over that.

you could type
source /mnt/hda1/script
