I installed everybuddy for connection with MSN Messenger and it won't connect to the MSN servers. I tested with AIM and Yahoo and those work great. Has anyone had any problems with connecting to MSN with everybuddy, or has anyone gotten it to work ok?
i am even trying gaim, and it won't connect either, not sure if its the correct port maybe, cause it looks as if it tries to connect, but just sits there and hangs until i hit cancel...
really, you couldn't get everybuddy to compile, well, i did mine on redhat using rpm, very easy install, just rpm -Uvh everybuddy... blah blah... then just typed everybuddy at the command and wa la... haven't tried the tarball yet.. really no need to i guess, i have already uninstalled it anyways..
lol... you sound really bored... gaim's working for me... but it's also a pain in the ass. i need to remove the .gaimrc file everytime i use it. the netscape aol messenger is much better.
yeah, pretty bored right now... jobless, don't feel like doing any webdesign right now for my web sites, reinstalling win98 on my other machine, realized I lost the driver disk for the winmodem in it, and forgot what kind of modem it is.... do you have msn working on gaim??
MSN always works for me on gabber, which i reckon is much nicer than everybuddy, when it works properly.
Think i've finally worked out that you can NEVER change any settings after you first confgiure it, even though it says you can.. so i can never add another account to it after i've configured ANOTHER new jabber account.
So, has anyone here determined that the reason it didn't work with M$N is because they are now denying access to MSN.com for any browsers that are not W3C compliant? May be the same is true for apps like everybuddy, too. If you go to MSN.com with Mozilla or Opera they won't let you in and advise you to go get IE. Of course there are workarounds for this, and they are allowing Netscape 4.7 and greater in as they are in compliance.
