Errors compiling custom kernel

I am running Fedora Core 2 on an Intel Pentium 4 system. I recently downloaded an update to kernel 2.6.8-1.521 and I wanted to build a custom version of this kernel.

I configured the settings and when I peform a make I received the following errors:

make[1]: `arch/i386/kernel/asm-offsets.s' is up to date.

What do I need to resolve these errors so I can build the kernel?

I'd suggest finding and asking the person the kernel
patch came from ... in the official 2.6.8.1 there's no
directory or file with tux in its name.

Cheers,
Tink

Have a look at the website of the fedora team?

I got the exactly same errors while compiling Fedora Core 2 kernel 2.6.8-1.521. So far I haven't found a solution to it. The kernel source was downloaded directly from Fedora ftp site without any patch added.

A similar bug has been reported to Fedora BugZilla for 2.6.7-x.xxx. But no solution has been posted.

I looked into the kernel source, and found that tux source codes had been modified since the original Fedora Core 2 came out. Several functions are called in tux, but not included in kernel compilation.
