Error while booting from usb flash drive

I tried to create a bootable linux on a usb flash drive by using the instruction from http://www.linux-live.org.

Managed to run ./build successfully and copied the directory "boot" and "linux" to the usb flash drive. Run the ./boot/bootinst.sh.

However when i boot up from it, it says

"Fatal error occured - can't find executable chroot command"

Will appreciate for any advise on this. Thanks.

since this may be your first attempt I suggest you go for a ready made package similar to your instructions but

http://www.slax.org/documentation_install_slax.php

There are some variants at slax. You can use standard usb format which is a fat or a linux format such as ext3 or xfs etc.

Also be aware that your usb stick needs to be about 1G for this slax and your bios needs to allow boot order of usb devices

goodluck
