Error trying to remove application using synaptic

I have Xubuntu and am trying to remove rosegarden2 from my machine but I get the following error.

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/lilypond-data_2.6.3-9~breezy1_all.deb: subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 1

What do I need to do to over come this problem?
